Jitendra Bajpai is currently the director of operations and knowledge services at the information management and technology network of the World Bank. He has worked previously with COMSIS, the Technology Research and Analysis Corporation, and as an assistant professor at the Indian Institute of Technology. Professionally, he seeks to promote sustainable development by addressing infrastructure and urban sector issues through policy reforms, investments and related capacity building actions in developing countries. He has also explored these issues in writing; his pieces include studies for the World Bank, the National Academy of Sciences, and the U.N.
Bajpai began his education in India, earning a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and a master’s in traffic and transportation planning from the School of Planning and Architecture in New Delhi. He received his doctoral degree from the Institut d’Urbanism at the University of Paris, and later sought further business training at the Harvard Executive Management Program.
