Columbia Business School School of Continuing Education

An intensive six-week summer program offered by Columbia University’s School of Continuing Education in partnership with the Columbia Business School, Business Edge gives advanced undergraduates and recent liberal arts graduates* the opportunity to acquire essential skills in:

  • Accounting
  • Management and Human Behavior in the Organization
  • Marketing
  • Finance

The integrated curriculum, taught by Columbia Business School faculty, incorporates project-based study, as well as company visits, networking events, and workshops. Distinguished Columbia MBA alumni and leading businessmen and businesswomen deliver guest lectures.

A case study final project applies the knowledge and skills accrued in each of the four course modules of the program.

“Taking Business Edge was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I can confidently say that I’ve walked away with the strongest fundamentals in business that I could've obtained.”Jovan Bursac
2013 Business Edge student

Upon successful completion of the program, students will receive an official Columbia University Statement of Attendance and will be better prepared to pursue an entrepreneurial path or an MBA. They will be able to analyze and interpret financial statements, understand the fundamentals of finance, develop innovative promotional strategies, and learn how to apply the core concepts of management and organizational theory in the workplace.

Offered during Summer Session 1 (D), May 27–July 3
Open to both international and domestic students

*For undergraduate degree holders who graduated before May 2013, we recommend the Business Certification Program.
