Alexander Pasik Biography

Alexander Pasik’s career combines strategic and visionary consulting, entrepreneurial and operational expertise, investment research and advisory services, and academic depth in information technology. In the course of his career, he has founded and managed multimillion-dollar departments at Gartner, Lazard Freres, and Ernst & Young; advised and participated in venture investments with an average rate of return of 40x; founded companies; and done so while continuing to contribute academically. Much of Dr. Pasik’s work has focused on research and research management in the information technology industry in which he has published and presented extensively on trends in IT and their affect on business models, processes, and fundamental industry shifts. For several of his client companies, he has managed and developed large-scale Internet-enabled businesses in technology, consumer, and financial industries. Currently, Dr. Pasik has turned his attention to the nonprofit, cultural sector as the CIO at the Guggenheim Museum. He also continues to teach at Columbia University’s Department of Computer Science at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
