Procedures

Pre-Registration

Students admitted by May 19 (for courses beginning May 24), June 2 (for courses beginning June 7), and June 30 (for courses beginning July 6) will be able to pre-register for courses. To pre-register, students must complete the Registration & Add/Drop form and sign the Principles of Academic Integrity (honor code) and submit them, along with any required approvals, by the deadlines above. Both forms are included in the notification of admission e-mail. Students will receive registration confirmation within three business days of submitting the required materials.

Students should consult the Directory of Classes for class times and locations.

Registration

For some courses permission of the instructor or department is required. See Additional Requirements for Registration for more information.

Students will receive registration confirmation within three business days of submitting the required materials.

Students who are not pre-registered can register for classes in person on

  • May 20, 21, 24, between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM
  • June 3, 4, 7 between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, for first part of the Russian Practicum
  • July 1, 2, 6 between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM

by bringing a completed Registration & Add/Drop form to 303 Lewisohn Hall. If they have not already done so, students registering in person must submit a signed copy of the honor code.

Change of Program

Once registered, students may change their program free of charge on the second, third, and fourth days of each session. Students who wish to add or drop a course during the change-of-program period must submit a Registration & Add/Drop form to the Office of the Summer Term, 303 Lewisohn Hall.

Students are financially responsible for all courses they are registered for at the close of business on May 27 for the first six-week (D), the nine-week (E), or twelve-week session (X), at the close of business on June 10 for the first four-week session (H), and at the close of business July 8 for the second six-week (Q) and second four-week (R) session.

Dropping an individual course after change of program period
There is no refund of tuition for individual courses dropped after the last day of the change-of-program period. To drop a course after these dates, students should complete a Registration & Add/Drop form and bring it to the Office of the Summer Term, 303 Lewisohn Hall. Dropping all courses
Students who wish to drop all of their classes in a session are considered to be withdrawing from that session and must complete a Withdrawal Form and submit it to the Office of the Student Affairs, 303 Lewisohn Hall. For more information about withdrawals, see Withdrawal and Tuition Refund.
