The Summer Term’s courses in human rights are offered in conjunction with the Center for the Study of Human Rights (CSHR) at Columbia University. Established in 1978, the CSHR at Columbia University is committed to providing excellent human rights education to Columbia students, fostering innovative interdisciplinary academic research, and offering its expertise in capacity building to human rights leaders, organizations, and universities around the world. Courses include active engagement with the world of human rights practitioners, and emphasize the connection between the study and practice of human rights.
NOTE: Professionals working in the field of human rights may be eligible to take classes this summer on a non-credit basis through the human rights visiting scholar program. To learn more about the visiting scholar program, please contact Dr. Elazar Barkan at eb2302@columbia.edu.
