Admissions Categories

There are four principal admissions categories for applicants wishing to take courses in the summer at Columbia:

Note for International Students
International students must register for 6 points in a six week session that begins either May 24 or July 6. They should be aware of additional application and visa requirements, registration obligations, and earlier deadlines.

Note for Graduates and Employees of Columbia University
Graduates of any division of Columbia University who have not already been accepted by another division of Columbia for the fall semester must apply for summer admission to the School of Continuing Education as Postbaccalaureate Studies students.

Columbia University graduates enrolled in another university should apply as visiting students.

Columbia employees who are current students in good standing in the School of Continuing Education or any other division of Columbia University do not need to apply for admission to the Summer Term. Employees who already hold a bachelor's degree and are not current students in any division of Columbia University should apply to the Postbaccalaureate Studies Program.
