Nelson Freitas

Nelson Freitas is senior partner, worldwide group planning director, at Ogilvy & Mather. His career in marketing and communications spans 16 years. At Ogilvy, Freitas has worked on global brands like Coca-Cola, DuPont, and Delta, developing integrated strategic communications plans relevant not only to the U.S. but worldwide. He is also credited with winning both the Delta and Unilever Slim-Fast account in 2004. Prior to Ogilvy & Mather, Freitas was a group planning director at TBWA/Chiat/Day in San Francisco, where he was the lead strategist on Levi’s, PlayStation, Pets.com, and Adidas. He believes in inspiring companies and brands to discover the one thing that will change their future and celebrate it. His advertising career includes strategic planning across blue chip businesses such as FMCG to retail clients to B2B businesses such as DuPont. He has planned communication initiatives across multiple targets on both national and global levels. He has worked on banking, telecommunications, new economy and retail sectors. Freitas’s work has earned him several Effies throughout the years. He has also presented workshops at Virginia Commonwealth University, Miami Ad School, Miami University, and recently the 2005 APG Planning Conference in Chicago. He holds a B.A. with double honors in political science and mass communications from York University.
