David Bittler
David Bittler has been a public relations and communications professional for 14 years, working in both the news and entertainment industries. He is currently senior vice president of corporate communications for MTV Networks, a unit of Viacom, where he is responsible for media relations and internal communications across the company’s 135 channels worldwide. Bittler joined MTV Networks in 2000, and since then has held a number of positions at the company’s global brands, including Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite, TV Land, and Spike TV. He developed corporate trade and business communications strategies for those networks while also supporting the MTV Networks corporate office with press strategies for companywide research initiatives. Bittler also helmed the 2005 press launch of Logo, the first ad-supported network for LGBT viewers, and led the network's strategic communications and public affairs initiatives. Before his work in entertainment, Bittler began his career in cable news, working as a spokesperson for CNBC and, earlier, directing media communications for CNN from its Atlanta headquarters. Bittler holds a B.A. in English and an M. A. in southern literature from the University of Mississippi.
