Alex Stanton
Alex Stanton is cofounder and CEO of Stanton Crenshaw Communications. With more than 25 years experience in public relations, government affairs, marketing services, and business development in a variety of industries, Stanton has strong expertise in crisis communications, financial and corporate communications, and crisis management. A hands-on manager who spends the majority of his time working directly with clients, Stanton offers the combination of corporate/financial knowledge, operational expertise, and strategic counsel that many companies need to seize opportunities and compete aggressively in today’s fast-moving business environment. Employing an aggressive, organic growth strategy, Stanton helped build the New York firm of Dorf & Stanton Communications into a leading national PR agency that was sold to Shandwick, now a unit of the Interpublic Group. Stanton left the firm in 1995 to found Stanton Crenshaw Communications with the vision to create a best-in-class mid-size PR firm. Six years later, Stanton Crenshaw has emerged as a market leader with a dynamic client base and such industry recognitions as “Mid-Size PR Agency of the Year” from PR Week magazine, and “Best New Agency” from Inside PR. Stanton has developed and managed successful PR and integrated marketing programs that have won more than twenty communications industry awards. Among Stanton’s achievements are healthcare leadership campaigns for Beth Israel Hospital and Continuum Health Partners, and reputation management for Ford Motor Company, Allied Domecq, and Monsanto. A frequent speaker on business strategy, marketing and communications issues, Stanton has served as president of the Public Relations Society of America in New York and as a director of the Young Presidents Organization. He also sits on boards of several technology companies as well as a number of national charitable organizations. Stanton holds a B.A. in urban affairs from Hobart College.
