Time Commitment
This master's degree program is designed as a one-year (usually two semesters and a summer, but it can be done in two semesters) full-time or two year part-time program. Part-time students who are working can meet with a faculty adviser to tailor the program to their work schedule. This is not, however, an executive master's degree that can be completed in evenings and weekends while working full-time. Evening courses will be offered, but there are no regularly scheduled weekend classes. There is no distance learning option available.
It is expected that most students will be enrolled as full-time students in the master's program. A part-time option is designed to accommodate the professional obligations of students who are employed. This is a rigorous and concentrated program that demands a serious commitment of time and energy. Students are expected to devote significant time to completing reading assignments, class assignments, and term projects outside of class.
It is inadvisable for students to apply for this program if they know in advance that they will miss class meetings.
