Degree Requirements

Students who began the program before fall 2008, may follow this graduation checklist.

In order to receive the master's degree, students must complete all requirements for the degree within four years (12 terms, including summer) with an overall grade point average of 3.0 (B) or better.

The 36-point program is composed of 12 3-point courses.

Fundraising Management Foundation Courses

All six courses are required (18 points). FUND K4370 Foundations of Fundraising and Development must be taken first.

  • FUND W4370. Foundations of Fundraising and Development. 3 pts.
  • FUND W4380. Annual Campaigns. 3 pts.
  • FUND W4377. Major Gifts. 3 pts.
  • FUND W4379. Planned Giving. 3 pts.
  • FUND K4360. Grants. 3 pts.
  • FUND W4375. Research For Fundraising Professionals. 3 pts.

Nonprofit Administration Courses

Four courses are required (12 points).

  • BUSI  K4010. Managing Human Behavior in the Organization. 3 pts.
  • BUSI K4020. Introduction to Marketing/Marketing Management. 3 pts.
  • FUND K4320. Nonprofit Financial Management. 3 pts.

One course in statistics, such as:

  • STAT W1001. Introduction to Statistical Reasoning. 3 pts.

Final Capstone Sequence

Complete the two required courses (6 points).

  • FUND K4390. Advanced Fundraising Project. 3 pts.
  • FUND K5150. Seminar in Fundraising. 3 pts.
