Douglas McKean
Douglas McKean is a registered architect, landscape architect, and LEED accredited professional. He is the director of programs with Columbia University facilities, and is responsible for several recently completed projects including the Faculty House (pursuing LEED Gold), the Gary C. Comer Geochemistry Building (pursuing LEED Silver), and the Columbia Alumni Center (pursuing LEED Gold). McKean is currently working on the proposed Campbell Sports Center at the Baker Athletic Complex, which is currently being designed to be at least LEED Silver. McKean has worked on a wide variety of building/project types, including the restoration of Grand Central Terminal, the redevelopment of the World Trade Center site, and projects for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration nationwide. His experience includes work on both the owner's side (for Columbia and Yale) and consulting side, with several distinguished architectural firms and his own sustainability consulting firm, Design Constructs.
McKean holds a B.A. in environmental design, an M.A. in architecture from Miami University in Ohio, and an M.A. in landscape architecture from The University of Virginia.
