Application Deadlines

Applicants are encouraged to submit completed applications at least one month prior to the start of the semester.

Admission Requirement

The Auditing Program is available to adults who:

1. have not recently attended high school
2. are not currently enrolled in a college or university
3. would like to sit in a designated class as a silent observer

Auditors may not concurrently enroll in courses for credit. Audited courses may not be repeated for credit.

Application Material

Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply online. Online applications can be processed more efficiently.

1. Completed Online Application form.

   Applicants who are unable to apply online may download a copy of the application, complete it, and mail it, together with all supporting documents, to the address below.

2. $50.00 nonrefundable application fee (U.S. currency). Applicants not applying online may pay in the form of a check or money order made out to Columbia University.  Do not send cash. Checks must be in U.S. currency drawn on a U.S. bank.  If you would like to pay by credit card you must apply online.

3. Applicants who would like to receive the Lifelong Learners tuition discount must submit a photocopy of appropriate documentation of age (drivers license, passport, birth certificate, or Medicare card).
